CVI Assessment in Tulsa, OK
Hi everyone! I have been in communication with Dr. Roman about her and one of her colleagues coming to Tulsa, OK. She is very interested in making this happen, but first we need to figure out how many are interested, services you would like to receive, etc. We don’t have dates yet, but it may not be until Spring 2025 (maybe Fall 2024 if we have quite a bit of immediate interest?!).
This assessment can be incredibly helpful for school to have in order to help your child meet educational goals. Dr. Roman is also willing to have outside TVIs/O&M therapists attend sessions to observe. She is also willing to sign off on professional development credit for those that do attend and observe.
Christine Roman-Lantzy, Ph.D. worked as an itinerant teacher of the visually impaired in the greater Pittsburgh area for 17 years prior to becoming a research assistant in the Vision Studies program at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, she completed studies in orientation and mobility and received a master’s degree in medically fragile/high-risk infants. She is the director of the Pediatric VIEW Program at The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center and a former project leader of the CVI Project at The American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville, KY. She has lectured extensively regarding the CVI materials she has developed. These materials include: The CVI Range, an assessment of functional vision, and The CVI Resolution Chart & CVI/O&M Resolution Chart, used to plot and monitor progress. She is the author of Cortical Visual Impairment: An Approach to Assessment and Intervention and Cortical Visual Impairment: Advanced Principles.
